Overview

Daniel Sullivan, a Director, has extensive experience in representing medical and educational institutions, developers, lenders and underwriters in a broad array of development, permitting and leasing projects ranging from life science buildings, medical office complexes, energy-related facilities to hotels, office buildings, office parks, marinas, retail and commercial projects, shopping centers, research and development space, warehouse facilities and multifamily, affordable and mixed-income housing. He also has extensive experience working with both non-profit institutions, developers and underwriters in the formation of complex joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies utilizing tax-exempt financing, equity placements, structured finance, and securitization for office, retail, hotel, medical research and residential developments.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of a major university in the acquisition, financing and disposition of equity interests in a one million square foot technology park in Cambridge. 
  • Representation of a major teaching hospital in permitting, development, construction and financing for a major research building, the development of a major expansion to the existing clinical facility and acquisition of development rights for life science centers and the acquisition of ancillary real estate. 
  • Representation of both profit and non-profit developers of residential property including affordable housing with credit-enhanced, low-floater tax-exempt bonds. 
  • Representation of non-profit and for-profit developers in the permitting of mixed-income housing under Chapter 40B (Comprehensive Permit) in many areas of Massachusetts. 
  • Representation of a national retail company in the refinancing of numerous shopping centers, comprising over $120 million in securitized debt in projects around the United States.
  • Representation of a major utility in the development of its corporate headquarters building in Westwood, Massachusetts. 
  • Representation of numerous energy companies in the development of independent power and alternative energy projects.
