Overview

Bob Casey's private client practice focuses on estate planning and estate and trust administration.  Bob brings more than 30 years of experience in both tax and non-tax considerations to the firm's clients. His broad-based practice consists of preparing wills, trusts and related documents for both United States and multinational clients; acting as counsel to estates (in both probate court and estate tax settlement proceedings); advising on protection of assets; advising on tax planning matters (including charitable gift planning); negotiating and drafting prenuptial agreements; and advising clients generally on personal, family and tax matters. He also participates as a trustee in the management of investments in numerous client trusts.

Representative Experience

  • Continuous wealth transfer and asset protection planning for many clients with substantial assets. 
  • Creation of a limited liability company (“LLC”) and family limited partnership (“FLP”) funded with family real estate interests or other assets, and implementation of gifts of LLC and FLP interests to trusts for benefit of family members. 
  • Design and implementation of private placement life insurance products and related irrevocable trusts for client’s family members. 
  • Creation of long-term irrevocable trusts and implementation of gifts of closely held stock to such trust prior to sale of such stock. 
  • Creative asset protection and income tax planning involving irrevocable grantor trusts. 
  • Creation of charitable remainder trusts and charitable lead trusts.
