Overview

More than 25 years of courtroom experience provide Paul Beckwith with the expertise necessary to advise and represent clients in a variety of commercial disputes and intellectual property litigation.  As counsel in the firm’s litigation group, Paul represents companies and individuals in a broad range of matters including close corporation disputes, trade secret misappropriation, real estate litigation, trademark licensing disputes, as well as trademark, copyright and patent infringement claims.  Paul has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts around the United States.  He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Massachusetts, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to joining Goulston & Storrs, Paul served as counsel within the commercial and business litigation group of a litigation boutique law firm in Boston.
 

Representative Experience

  • Obtained a million dollar trial verdict on behalf of a seafood broker in a commercial dispute involving scallop wholesale royalties.
  • Obtained a jury verdict in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on behalf of the owner of nationwide travel centers in a subrogation case involving the theft of $11 million of pharmaceutical cargo from tractor trailers.
  • Obtained a verdict and attorneys’ fees on behalf of an international real estate developer in connection with the development of a large parcel of land in Boston’s Seaport District.
  • Obtained a directed verdict at trial on behalf of an international lighting manufacturer in a disability discrimination case.
  • Obtained a summary judgment for international apparel and shoe company in trademark infringement action relating to Michael Jordan’s induction into Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
  • Obtained summary judgment for international manufacturer of fluid sealing devices in a copyright infringement action arising out of the transfer of mechanical drawings to a competitor.
