The depth and expertise of our Litigation Group is evident from the attorneys that comprise the practice: four of our litigators are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers; one is a former judge; many hold or have held leadership positions in local and national bar associations and numerous others have served as clerks for judges in state and federal courts. Our lawyers are nationally recognized as top-rated practitioners. With a strong record of success as both trial and appellate lawyers, we have the insight to plan and execute a winning strategy from the outset of a case. Recognized by Chambers USA, the Litigation group is "a strong group with extensive trial skills" which is "dedicated to client service."
Goulston & Storrs litigators handle cases involving commercial, corporate and real estate disputes, security law issues, employment and discrimination, intellectual property and technology, land use and zoning and white collar crime. In addition, we play leading roles in cases involving licensing of intellectual property, construction, property management, and landlord/tenant disputes, banking and finance, environmental issues, health care regulation, Medicaid fraud and abuse, products liability; professional liability, civil RICO actions and tax abatement and tax litigation.
Our litigation clients include private and public companies, family owned businesses, entrepreneurs, real estate developers and real estate investment trusts, manufacturers, technology and Internet companies, software developers, institutional lenders and investors, governmental agencies and public entities, not-for-profit organizations, educational institutions and international governments. We represent clients in disputes ranging from relatively small and local matters to large and complex lawsuits and administrative proceedings throughout the United States, and appear regularly before state and federal courts.
Throughout the course of our representation, we advise and counsel clients about the relative risks, costs and benefits of continued litigation, as compared to settlement. We also appreciate that traditional litigation can be costly and time-consuming. Therefore, we work with our clients to determine whether some form of Alternative Dispute Resolution should be considered for their particular case. In recognition of their stature in the legal community, several of our attorneys regularly serve as neutral arbitrators and mediators in disputes involving parties other than our own clients.
