Massachusetts-Israel Innovation Partnership Mission 2014 to Focus on Real Estate Opportunities at Thursday Meeting

Who: Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Secretary of Economic Development Greg Bialecki will join leaders in the Massachusetts Real Estate sector for a round table discussion hosted by David Abromowitz and Zev Gewurz, Directors at US law firm Goulston & Storrs, and Lawrence Sternthal, Partner, Israeli law firm Gross Kleinhendler. An investment opportunities overview will also be presented by Eastdil Secured, a real estate investment banking company.

What: The New England Israel Business Council’s Massachusetts-Israel Innovation Partnership Mission 2014 serves to cultivate an important relationship that has generated thousands of jobs for people in Massachusetts from Israeli investment in the region. Abromowitz and Gewurz are the only real estate lawyers joining the 120-person delegation from Massachusetts on this week’s trip. This is the second delegation led by Governor Patrick to Israel, the first being in 2011. Since that time, massive opportunities have developed for Israeli and other foreign investors in US real estate, thereby creating additional jobs for Massachusetts workers and substantial tax benefits for those investors. According to the New England Israel Business Council, more than 200 Israeli-founded businesses are based in Massachusetts. The council says these companies booked $6 billion in revenue in 2012 and provided 6,600 jobs. In addition, many Massachusetts companies maintain research and development operations in Israel.

Where: The program will take place at the offices of Gross Kleinhendler, 40th Floor, Round Building, Azrieli Center, Tel Aviv, Israel.

When: Thursday, 29 January 2014, 11:00 a.m. Program and Networking will conclude at 12:30 p.m.

Why: Israeli investors have been looking increasingly to the US real estate markets over the last five years for investment opportunities. This program held in Israel is important for international investors currently looking to expand into the US. The insights of the Governor, Secretary of Economic Development, and the Massachusetts delegates is also critical information that Israeli real estate professionals need to know.
