Commercial development, financing and leasing are the focus of Mark D. Jackson's practice. As a director in the firm's Washington, DC office, Mark regularly represents real estate developers and end users (including big-box retailers) in acquiring, disposing of, and financing real estate, as well as with managing and leasing real estate projects. He also represents lenders and other institutional investors with making real estate and other asset-based loans and structured debt and equity investments.
Mark's clients include owners, developers, and managers of office buildings, residential buildings and communities, research and development facilities, commercial shopping centers, and mixed-use projects. He works in all aspects of office, retail, and industrial leasing, representing Fortune 500 companies, high-tech ventures, telecommunications companies, and professional firms in their acquisition, leasing, and other real estate transactions, including construction of their headquarters facilities. Mark also advises lenders, property owners, and individual investors in dealing with problem loans and other investments involving recourse liabilities. In addition, he has represented clients with acquiring and/or constructing projects using private and public sources of funds, including taxable and tax-exempt financing and similar programs.
Prior to joining Goulston & Storrs, Mark was a member of a national law firm in Bethesda, Maryland. He has also worked with several other prominent law firms throughout his legal career.
