Biography

Overview

Brendan Smith is a real estate attorney working on commercial real estate transactions involving development, land use, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and more. Based in the firm’s Boston office, Brendan handles research, due diligence, contract review, negotiation strategies, and other critical transactional support for the firm’s national client base.

Brendan’s experience includes serving as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Kevin T. Smith, Land Court Department of the Massachusetts Trial Court. During law school, Brendan interned in the office of the general counsel for Beth Israel Lahey Health; in the office of the city solicitor for the city of Quincy, Massachusetts; and in the chambers of the Honorable Allison Dale Burroughs, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts. In 2019, he earned the distinction of being selected as a Fellow by the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy at Boston College Law School. Brendan’s fellowship involved working on a variety of public policy matters with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety and Security. 

Prior to and while attending law school, Brendan spent many years working in higher education in the Boston area. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he focuses his pro bono efforts on veteran and servicemember issues.
