Goulston & Storrs Appoints New Co-Chairs to Litigation and Corporate Practice Groups

Goulston & Storrs is pleased to announce that Mark Swirbalus has been appointed Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group, and David Coombs has been appointed Co-Chair of the Corporate Practice Group.

Mark, who joined Goulston & Storrs in 2012, focuses his practice on probate disputes; trust and will contests (undue influence, competency, fraud); breach of fiduciary duty claims; removal actions; contested accountings; reformation and interpretation actions; trust and estate property disputes; tax disputes; and guardianship and conservatorship proceedings. He represents individuals, charitable organizations and bank and trust companies as beneficiaries, trustees, executors, administrators and personal representatives. Mark has served as Co-Chairman of the Fiduciary Litigation Committee of the Boston Bar Association and as a member of the Probate Law Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) and has been appointed to its Fiduciary Litigation Committee. His work has been recognized by his peers with his being named a Massachusetts Super Lawyer and with an “AV Preeminent” rating by Martindale Hubbell. He is also nationally ranked as a leading litigator by Chambers USA. Mark joins Len Freiman as Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group.

David advises clients on corporate matters related to business and securities laws, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, emerging companies, venture capital and private equity. He represents funds and investors relating to fund formation, capital raising and operations, and serves as general outside counsel to technology, life sciences, retail, non-profit and other organizations, including with respect to finance, corporate governance, strategic matters, licensing and other matters. Having joined the Firm in 2007, David is an active member of the firm's interdisciplinary Real Estate Funds group, and he is Co-Chair of the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity groups. David joins Philip Herman as Co-Chair of the Corporate Practice Group.
