Goulston & Storrs Ranks in Chambers USA High Net Worth Guide 2021 for Private Wealth Law; Five Attorneys Rank as Leaders

Goulston & Storrs, an Am Law 200 firm, has once again ranked in the 2021 edition of Chambers USA High Net Worth (HNW) Guide for Private Wealth Law. Four Goulston & Storrs directors – Mark D. Balk, Mark M. Christopher, Suma V. Nair, Andrew (Andy) D. Rothstein, and Mark. E Swirbalus – also ranked among the top attorneys in the directory.

Chambers High Net Worth ranks the leading and most dedicated law firms and lawyers for international private wealth, culling thousands of in-depth interviews with peer attorneys and industry leaders to assess the reputations and expertise of business lawyers worldwide.

According to Chambers, Goulston & Storrs is recognized as "a tremendously good firm in Massachusetts." The team has particular expertise in contentious probate and fiduciary matters.

Mark D Balk ranked in the Private Wealth Law category. Chambers noted, he is “well known in the Boston community for his experience advising affluent clients on estate planning and transfers of wealth. "He is an excellent guy," says one source, and another observes:"He is a smart lawyer and very good."

Mark M. Christopher ranked in the Private Wealth Law category. “He has an exceptional reputation within the Boston community," notes a source, while another remarked: "He is really a go-to lawyer. I think he is someone who is really in tune with his clients, he is very personable and is able to explain things carefully and well to clients." Several interviewees highlight his technical skills. "I hold him in utmost esteem - he is an awesome guy and I am consistently blown away by how terrific he is," enthuses a source, adding: "He has super judgement and great experience. I would trust him with any client."

Suma V. Nair ranked in the Private Wealth Law category. Peers commented that she "is a talented lawyer," and that "She has an excellent touch with clients, she is very smart and somebody who I have no hesitation referring complex matters to if I couldn't deal with them." She is often sought after to provide estate and tax planning advice to high net worth clients.

Andy Rothstein ranked in the Private Wealth Law category, with Chambers observing that he advises high net worth individuals and families on a broad range of wealth planning matters. "He is a very, very good technical lawyer," says a source. Another source concurs: "I think he is great. He is a very good technical lawyer, a very smart guy and really good with clients."

Mark. E Swirbalus, co-chair of Goulston & Storrs’ Litigation group, ranked in the Private Wealth Disputes category. Industry peers explained to Chambers, "He is a class act and certainly a go-to individual in Boston for probate disputes." Another interviewee says that "Mark is an excellent attorney and it is especially rare to find one that understands with the depth that he does both fiduciary law and litigation practice and strategy."
