Diversity & Inclusion

Goulston & Storrs is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and values the dynamic, vibrant spirit diversity brings to our organization and lives. We recognize that our own diversity helps us appreciate alternative points of view as we serve an increasingly diverse and inclusive clientele.

At Goulston, we strive to promote the recruitment,  and advancement of a diverse workforce.  Greater than forty percent of our colleagues are women, people of color or openly LGBTQ. Women, racial and ethnic minorities, and LGBTQ lawyers have served on virtually all committees within the firm.
While very proud of our progress in building diversity, we set our sights ever higher. The firm takes many steps to ensure that lawyers from diverse backgrounds receive excellent work, mentoring and training opportunities, and continually seeks to increase diversity awareness in the hiring process. In addition, we maintain an active speakers program to raise consciousness regarding the many ways that diversity enriches us personally and strengthens our organization.

Goulston & Storrs was recently named to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2018 “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” list, a distinction awarded to businesses that receive the top score of 100 percent on the organization’s benchmark Corporate Equality Index (CEI) report. The CEI is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality and includes companies from all industries and geographies across corporate America.

Further to the firm's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policy, the firm does not support philanthropy (financial or in-kind) to non-religious organizations that have a written or otherwise known or practiced policy of discrimination against LGBT people (i.e., organizations that actively discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity).
