Borrowing a Bankruptcy and Legislative Responses
East Wing 120

The American College of Bankruptcy and Boston College Law School are coming together to present the Bankruptcy Symposium, “Borrowing a Bankruptcy” and Legislative Responses.
A number of issues have dominated the bankruptcy world over the last few years, but none more so than the use of bankruptcy to shield non-debtors from liability. Panels of leading practitioners will discuss non-consensual third party releases (e.g. opioid cases and other tort cases), divisive merger statutes (aka the “Texas Two-Step”) and venue reform. Then there is the economy. While all economic cycles have their own unique characteristics, perhaps none more than today’s, a panel will lead a discussion on how the economy does (and does not) affect the insolvency practice.
Director Douglas Rosner will present during the panels "Third-Party Releases" and "Venue."
