"In order to secure public approvals for complex real estate projects and other public/private partnerships, developers are increasingly called upon to deliver robust improvements to the public realm, monetary contributions, and other mitigation benefits championed by governmental and community stakeholders. Using case studies from multiple jurisdictions, this session will examine current trends in mitigation expectations, plus strategies for formulating, structuring, and building consensus for community benefits packages. Also discussed, from the perspective of both the private sector and government, will be best practices in structuring legal agreements that memorialize mitigation commitments in a manner that is clear, enforceable, and financeable."
