Speaker, ACTEC 2019 New England Regional Meeting
Mark Swirbalus will be joining Stacey Mullaney of Fiduciary Trust to speak at the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel's annual New England Regional Meeting. They will be discussing the following topic:
Accountings, Assents, Releases, and Other Protections for Trustees – Don’t Let the Door Hit You on the Way Out!
There are several options for trustees of terminating trusts, or resigning trustees transferring trust assets, to ensure they are protected from later claims by beneficiaries and others. In this session we will review those options, including their limitations under the law, and we will explore circumstances that may give rise to the need for a trustee to seek an assent, release, or indemnity from certain parties.
Mark Swirbalus is a fellow of ACTEC, which is a national organization of more than 2,500 lawyers and law professors peer-elected to membership. According to ACTEC, "Our members, who are called "Fellows," are the best and brightest in the trust and estate practice, with years of experience representing and advising families."
