THISGEN®: "She Started It"
In celebration of Women's Entrepreneurship Day, Goulston & Storrs invites you to attend a virtual panel and networking event featuring female founders: Tara Foley (Follain), Jessica Kim (ianacare), Julie Maskulka (Anecdote Candles), and Jae'da Turner (Black Owned Bos.).
Goulston & Storrs attorney Jackie Grodin will facilitate the discussion, which will explore words of advice, inspiring stories, key learnings, and future aspirations. While female-focused, this event is open to all who support the advancement of women in business.
It wouldn't be a celebration without some giveaways! The first 50 registrants who attend the panel will receive a swag bag of panelist-related items following the event. Additionally, a $5 donation will be made for every registrant. Tara, a clean beauty advocate and entrepreneur, is the founder of Follain: a pioneering retail brand that curates and creates the best in clean beauty. Since opening in 2013, Follain has grown its highly curated and vetted assortment of skincare, makeup, haircare and bodycare from 60 brands - in addition to its own brand, which can also be found at ULTA, Goop, and other retailers nationwide.
Jessica is the co-founder of ianacare, a virtual care team that encourages, empowers, and equips family caregivers with the tools and community they need, so no caregiver does it alone. This venture sparked from her experience being a full-time caregiver for her mom battling cancer.
Julie is the founder of and the accidental entrepreneur behind Anecdote Candles. Before candle making, Julie spent over a decade as a strategy consultant at Ernst & Young and IDEO where she led teams through the intricacies of the design and innovation process. During this time, Anecdote was a side project. Anecdote Candles was launched in 2019 and picked up by several major retailers that same year. Today, the brand is driven by Julie’s passion, commitment, and dry wit in a bid to make fragrance a conversation piece.
Jae'da is the founder of Black Owned Bos., a platform and resource for Black owned businesses, places, spaces, and the people moving the culture forward. The lifelong creative and servant leader is committed to fostering community development, empowering entrepreneurship, and creating impactful opportunities. Jae'da launched Black Owned Bos. in 2019, leveraging her lived and learned experiences to be an empowered changemaker.
