Biography
Overview
Jesse Scott is a corporate attorney in the firm’s New York office. Jesse works on a wide range of complex transactional matters, providing critical support to the firm’s senior lawyers. His practice includes buy-side and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, real estate development, and joint ventures. He also works on corporate governance and compliance matters, including as a member of the firm’s Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) task force.
Jesse rejoined the firm in 2022 following his time as a summer associate. His prior experience includes work for the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at New York University Law School, where he assisted with planning and establishing a new NGO (the Roya Institute). While in this role, he also co-authored a handbook on interactive methods of legal education for international use and researched the constitutional role of Sharia law in Muslim-majority countries for a scholar’s forthcoming book. Jesse previously was a defense and foreign policy intern for the Cato Institute, where he prepared briefings and edited articles for leading scholars, and met with high-level members of the Moldovan government to discuss and report on US/Moldova relations.
