Goulston & Storrs Names David L. Coombs Co-Chair of Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity Group
Goulston & Storrs is pleased to announce that David L. Coombs has been named co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity group.
The growth of the firm’s Capital Markets group in recent years includes the April 2011 addition of noted New York capital markets lawyer Yaacov Gross, who previously helmed Morrison & Foerster’s Real Estate Securities Practice Group. Under Yaacov’s leadership as co-chair, Goulston & Storrs’ Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity group has grown significantly with the addition of several Directors who chose to join Goulston & Storrs from other Am Law 200 firms. These practitioners include Lee C. Carter and Yann H. H. van Geertruyden who joined in 2011 from Pillsbury’s Washington, DC office and John M. Ratino and Thomas F. Kaufman who joined from Hunton & Williams, also in Washington, DC. Robert I. Bressman also joined the firm earlier this year from Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and brings his experience to Goulston & Storrs’ capital markets practice as well.
Now, David joins Yaacov Gross as co-chair of the firm’s Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity group, lending his experience and leadership to the practice that serves clients in the US, Israel, Canada, Asia and Europe from each of the firm’s US locations in Boston, New York and Washington, DC.
David counsels clients on a wide variety of corporate matters related to business and securities laws, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, emerging companies, venture capital and private equity. As an active member of the firm's interdisciplinary Real Estate Funds group, he represents funds and investors relating to fund formation, capital raising and operations. He advises clients in connection with the creation of appropriate fund structures and the placement of fund interests, the general structure and operation of funds, and compliance with associated regulatory requirements.
“I am excited to assume a co-chairing role within the firm’s Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity group, and look forward to continuing to look at innovative ways to leverage the group’s expanding footprint to our clients’ advantage,” David stated. “As we add lawyers to our team in this area, we expand our ability to help our clients meet their ever-changing business objectives. Creative financing solutions are a hallmark of our deal teams, and the upward economy only enhances our ability to help our clients’ grow their businesses.”
Marty Fantozzi, co-managing director at Goulston & Storrs, commented, “David lends his wealth of experience in business to the benefit of our clients at Goulston & Storrs, and it’s this acumen that makes him a perfect choice to co-chair our growing Real Estate Capital Markets/Equity group. He has made substantial contributions to the team already, and we look forward to his now-sharpened focus on ensuring that the group’s clients reach even greater success in their business endeavors.“
