Goulston & Storrs is pleased to announce that Gerret Baur has joined the firm’s Tax Group in Boston. Gerret is the second Director in as many months to join the firm's growing Tax Group, complementing the addition of Abe Leitner who moved to Goulston & Storrs in June in New York.

Gerret joins the firm from medical device company Medtronic (formerly Covidien), where he served as Director, Global Tax Planning. His practice focuses on US and international tax matters with an emphasis on tax issues arising in mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, and investment funds. At Medtronic, Gerret provided tax support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, licenses and venture investments, including tax planning associated with the integration of acquired businesses. Prior to joining Medtronic, Gerret was a Tax Associate at White & Case LLP in New York.

“We are energized about the talent we continue to add to our Tax group, with Gerret being our latest terrific addition,” said Marty Fantozzi, Co-Managing Director at Goulston & Storrs. “Gerret's diverse background in both US and international tax issues brings a deep breadth of knowledge and experience to our clients, across industries, and we look forward to introducing Gerret and his skillset to the many clients who we are certain will come to rely on his counsel to lead them in the myriad of complicated tax-related issues common in their business endeavors."

Gerret received his B.A. from Mercyhurt College, his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, and his LL.M (Taxation) from New York University School of Law.
