Goulston & Storrs is pleased to announce that John D. Hanify has joined the firm’s Litigation Group as Counsel in Boston. Hanify joins a growing list of law firm industry leaders who have chosen to move their practices to Goulston & Storrs in the last several years.

Hanify, a leading business trial lawyer in Massachusetts, represents businesses and financial institutions in complex, high-stakes commercial litigations. Hanify’s broad-based practice includes a range of business and real estate disputes involving mergers and acquisitions, federal securities laws, lender liability, ERISA, real estate developments, and fiduciary duty.

“John’s extensive trial experience across industries and winning litigation record will benefit our clients immediately and we are excited to welcome John to the firm,” said Martin Fantozzi, Co-Managing Director of Goulston & Storrs. Fantozzi also noted that Hanify’s arrival will further contribute to the firm’s strategic expansion of its litigation capacity.

The arrival of Hanify follows the notable addition of five litigators from highly-regarded litigation boutique Miller & Wrubel P.C. He joins a nationally recognized litigation team that features Fellows of the American College of Trial Attorneys, adjunct professors and lecturers at Boston area law schools, and many advocates who have served as clerks for judges in state and federal courts.

Hanify commented, “I am pleased to join such a collegial law firm, well-known for the exceptional personal and professional quality of its lawyers and their notable record of success for clients.”

Prior to joining Goulston & Storrs, Hanify practiced at an Am Law 100 firm for seven years. Hanify also was the founding principal and head of litigation of Beacon Hill firm Hanify & King. Hanify received his A.B. from Harvard University and his J.D. from Boston College where he now serves as Chairman of the Business Advisory Council. He frequently writes and lectures on topics involving business litigation, corporate risk management, NITA negotiation, and mediation skills programs.

Goulston & Storrs has approximately 200 lawyers working in Boston, New York, and Washington D.C. The firm has been listed on BTI’s “A-team” for client service, and it has been recognized for excellence by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America and other legal ranking publications.
