June 4, 2020 – Publications / Mentions"A decedent’s mother was entitled to the proceeds of his life insurance policy even though his ex-wife was the named beneficiary at the time of his death, a Superior Court judge has ruled. After the insurer filed an interpleader action concerning the policy’s proceeds, decedent Sean Parker’s mother, Joann Parker, filed a cross-claim against Sean’s ex-wife, Dawn Diana-Parker, seeking the benefits pursuant to the revocation-upon-divorce provision in the Massachusetts Uniform Probate Code, G.L.c. 190B, §2-804(b)(1)."
