Brian Dugdale is an experienced and trusted advisor who counsels owners, developers, and investors in the acquisition, development, and sale of commercial real estate.
He regularly guides clients through complex transactions and development projects across the multifamily housing, retail, public infrastructure, transportation, and education sectors. Nonprofit institutions — particularly academic medical centers, health care providers, and colleges and universities — also rely on Brian for strategic counsel on all aspects of their real estate needs. Brian applies practical strategies for permitting, regulatory compliance, and due diligence. He also negotiates agreements with private landowners and public authorities and advises on tax credits and bond financing for infrastructure projects, including Infrastructure Investment Incentives Act (“I-Cubed”) financing..

Clients value Brian’s smart, results-driven approach to land use and permitting for major developments and acquisitions. With deep experience navigating local, state, and federal processes, he represents clients before public and quasi-public agencies, including select and zoning boards, planning boards, city councils, conservation commissions, and assessors’ offices. Brian has particular experience working with the Cape Cod Commission (CCC), Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA), Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), Massachusetts Historic Commission (MHC), Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Office, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
A Community Champion
With a deep commitment to service, Brian serves on the Boards of Directors for several youth services organizations. He also serves the larger community through pro bono representation of IRAP (International Refugee Assistance Project); PAIR (Political Asylum/Immigration Representation); and KIND (Kids in Need of Defense). Through all of these organizations, Brian helps refugees obtain asylum and special immigration status within the United States.
