cwaters@goulstonstorrs.com+1 617 574 2282As Chief Financial Officer for Goulston & Storrs, Chris Waters directs all aspects of the firm’s accounting and finance functions. In this role, he serves as a key business advisor to the Executive Committee, Co-Managing Directors, and other firm leaders regarding financial matters, as well as strategic and operational decisions.
His leadership responsibilities also extend to development of annual operating and capital budgets, maintenance of robust risk management and financial controls, and development of useful technologies, analytical tools and metrics pertinent to profitability, revenue, utilization, realization and other goals. In addition, he collaborates with the Chief Pricing Officer to create and capitalize on effective pricing strategies to optimize revenues, engagements and profitability.
Prior to his arrival at Goulston & Storrs, Chris served as the Americas Head of Finance for Vistra, a global provider of corporate services with over 4,000 professionals working across 45 jurisdictions. He also served as Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of United Natural Foods, the largest publicly traded grocery distributor in America, and he progressed through multiple senior leadership positions during seven years of service at State Street Corporation. Chris started his career in Big Four accounting, serving clients in a variety of industries with a focus on providing audit and M&A advisory services.
