Jennifer Mikels helps clients facing high stakes legal malpractice, complex commercial disputes, and fiduciary-related litigation.
A respected trial lawyer who has tried numerous cases to verdict in federal and state court and private arbitration, Jen is particularly known for her experience defending the country’s largest law firms and their lawyers against claims asserted by former clients or aggrieved partners. She also advises clients concerning alleged violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct and other disciplinary matters.
Jen’s broad-based commercial and fiduciary litigation experience includes representing private individuals, closely held entities, trustees, partnerships, LLCs, private equity portfolio companies, and other clients in contract, fraud, probate, and fiduciary duty disputes.

Multiple Am Law 10–200 firms in high-stakes professional liability and intra-firm disputes—including alleged legal malpractice, breaches of fiduciary duty, conflicts and disclosure issues, and partner separations—across courts and arbitral forums nationwide: An AmLaw 10 firm against alleged legal malpractice claim in excess of $12 million brought by a former client in connection with a corporate finance transaction; An AmLaw 10 firm in a sensitive dispute with a departing partner; An Am Law 20 firm in the Business Litigation Session of the Superior Court against alleged legal malpractice claims valued at over $40 million; An Am Law 20 firm in a $15 million legal malpractice arbitration trial arising out of an underlying lawsuit in which the client faced a $40 million verdict. The client alleged that the firm failed to advise the client to settle the underlying case; An AmLaw 50 firm and two of its partners in connection with claims for legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty brought by a former client.
