Clients in the multifamily housing, institutional (educational and medical), retail, lab and life science, and miliary housing industries seek Kevin Gaughan’s guidance on permitting, land use, acquisitions and disposition, and other transactional real estate matters.
Kevin handles all aspects of the development, acquisition and disposition of commercial real estate. He also developed land use and permitting strategies in coordination with the clients as part of their acquisition or redevelopment of property in Boston, Cambridge and throughout Massachusetts.
Kevin regularly works with clients to obtain permits at the local, state, and federal levels, including under Article 80 of the Boston Zoning Code, M.G.L. Chapters 40A and 40B, Chapter 91 (Waterways), and the Massachusetts Environmental Protection Act (MEPA).
Kevin is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Captain. This experience informs his unique insight into how collaboration, organization, and strategy can drive success. He applies these principals to his practice, where he is known for his collaborative and cooperative approach to inking real estate deals. His reputation as a strong and fair advocate is the result of his proven ability to foster productive relationships with clients as well as city and state agencies.
Serving Communities in Need
In addition to his real estate practice, Kevin is an active member of the communities in which he lives and works. He provides pro bono legal services that draw upon his experience in zoning, permitting, leasing and refinancing. He also supports fellow Veterans through the Veterans Legal Services (VLS so that they may achieve the financial stability necessary to live full and dignified lives.
