Yann van Geertruyden is a real estate partner at Goulston & Storrs whose practice spans the full spectrum of complex real estate transactions, with a particular focus on real estate development, finance, joint ventures, and public-private partnerships.
Yann represents developers and corporate clients across a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, residential, retail, and office development, construction, ground leasing, retail, office and residential leasing, and finance. He also advises corporate borrowers in sophisticated and complex financing transactions, bringing a deal-oriented perspective to even the most intricate capital structures.
In his M&A practice, Yann regularly counsels buyers and sellers on real estate-related matters arising in connection with their acquisitions and dispositions, bringing practical, deal-focused expertise across a wide variety of asset classes and industries.
Yann has built a nationally recognized practice advising private developers on public-private partnership transactions with the United States Government, including large-scale privatization of military and government housing portfolios and the ongoing development, leasing, construction, financing, and operation of those portfolios. His practice also encompasses the rapidly growing single-family rental sector, where he advises developers and investors on the acquisition, development, financing, and operation of single-family rental communities across the country.
Prior to joining the firm, Yann served as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Connie Mack, handling issues related to defense, transportation, international trade, and governmental affairs—experience that informs his deep fluency in the intersection of government and private real estate development.
