The Brooklyn Entertainment and Sports Law Society (BESLS) is hosting its inaugural sports law symposium, which will explore “The Future of College Sports in America.”

Kicking off the event will be a keynote conversation with Stan Wilcox, Executive Vice President of Regulatory Affairs at the NCAA (BLS ’88), moderated by Professor Jodi Balsam. The subsequent three panels will focus on:

  1. The recent Alston decision by SCOTUS, and its implications on NCAA governance;
  2. Title IX issues in college sports; and
  3. The evolving Name, Image & Likeness (“NIL”) regulatory landscape.

Martin Edel, Director and Chair, College Sports Law Practice and Professor of Antitrust Law, Brooklyn Law School, will speak during Panel 1: Alston and the Future of NCAA governance.

Following the three panels, there will be virtual breakout rooms for attendees and panelists to network with one another. Panelists will include NCAA/university officials, leading practitioners, agents, and professors.
