In her role as Treasurer of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Boston, Rebecca Tunney will be hosting the Chapter's March 2021 event.
Event description: We have heard that US trusts with French beneficiaries can have negative tax and reporting requirements. In this webinar, Avocat Marine Pelletier-Capes will explain how trusts are perceived in France, and will walk us through the tax and reporting requirements enacted in France’s 2011 Amended Finance Law. We will learn about the implications for revocable and irrevocable trusts with French beneficiaries, trustees, and grantors so we can avoid issues when planning. Marine will also discuss the reporting for long-existing trusts, and how to come into compliance.
About the Speaker: Marine Pelletier-Capesis a member of the IACF (Institut des Avocats Conseils Fiscaux) and a regular speaker at HEC Paris Grande Ecole’s master programs (general education in taxation) as well as French or international seminars focusing on private clients taxation.
About STEP: The primary purpose of STEP Boston is to improve public understanding of the issues families face in relation to inheritance and succession planning and promote education and high professional standards among members.
