Goulston & Storrs Names Renowned Estate Planning Attorney Michelle Porter as New Co-Managing Director
Goulston & Storrs, an Am Law 200 firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Porter as Co-Managing Director, effective April 1, 2024. She will be joining William “Bill” Dillon, who has served as Co-Managing Director since 2018. Martin M. Fantozzi will be stepping down from this role after nearly 15 years.
Prior to the appointment, Porter served as Co-Chair of the firm’s Private Client & Trust Group, one of the largest and most established wealth management practices in the country. She is a nationally regarded estate planning attorney with nearly 25 years of experience advising clients on sophisticated estate and tax planning, trust and estate administration, business planning, and charitable giving matters. Porter frequently serves as a trustee for private trusts and is actively involved in the investment of trust assets. Additionally, she is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, Executive Committee, Mentoring Committee, and Strategic Growth Committee.
“I am thrilled to work alongside Bill to lead Goulston & Storrs into an exciting new chapter of continued growth, where we will maintain our unwavering dedication to client service and look to build upon our success across all of our practice areas,” said Michelle Porter. “I am humbled by the opportunity and fully committed to strengthening our focus on excellence, collaboration, and fostering diversity. I look forward to identifying initiatives that will heighten our firm’s reputation as trusted advisors and an employer of choice.”
Porter is the first woman to hold this prestigious leadership role at Goulston & Storrs. Over the next year, she and Dillon will lead Goulston & Storrs into its newly designed Boston offices at One Post Office Square, where it will occupy 100,000 square feet across four floors. The firm has more than 450 employees across its offices in Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C. About 360 employees are based in Boston.
“Michelle is an impeccable selection for Co-Managing Director because of the depth of her experience and leadership, strategic mindset, and her thoughtful approach and ability to build consensus among colleagues,” said William Dillon, Co-Managing Director of Goulston & Storrs. “During her more than two decades at Goulston & Storrs, Michelle has cemented herself as a true leader, wholly aligned with our core values, and is ideally suited to serve at the helm as we navigate the future together.”
Porter serves on the Board of Directors of the Special Olympics Massachusetts and was previously Chair of the Massachusetts Clients’ Security Board and a member of the Boston Foundation Professional Advisors Committee. She received her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and her B.A. from College of the Holy Cross.
Martin Fantozzi will remain at the firm, returning to his work as a litigator who counsels public and private REITs, investment firms, lenders, property management and brokerage firms, retailers and academic hospitals and universities.
