Ling Kong Joins Goulston & Storrs as a Director in New York
Goulston & Storrs, an Am Law 200 firm, is pleased to announce that Ling Kong has joined its New York office as a director in the firm’s Corporate Group. He brings considerable experience in a broad range of corporate transactions and financings, including venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring, and recapitalizations, to the firm. Prior to joining Goulston & Storrs, Kong was a partner at an Am Law 100 U.S. law firm.
Kong’s global clients include public and private companies, private equity and venture capital funds, family offices, entrepreneurs and founders, and other clients involved in a variety of industries, including technology, consumer products, chemicals, energy, entertainment, fashion, medical devices, packaging, and sporting equipment.
Some of his work includes: representation of a West Coast sports and fan engagement technology company in its $8.5 million seed funding round; representation of a New York-based venture capital firm and startup studio in investments in various consumer product companies; representation of Boston-based private investment firm in its investment in a commercial fusion energy startup company; representation of a leading provider of clinical artificial intelligence software for the early, efficient detection of lung disease in a $15 million equity investment; and
representation of a leading specialty chemicals company in its $3.8 billion acquisition of a worldwide specialty additives business.
“We have deep capabilities in our corporate practice and Ling will be a great addition to our team in New York. His expertise in venture capital and M&A – especially in the area of cross-border transactions – will be invaluable to our firm and our clients,” said Bill Dillon, Co-Managing Director of Goulston & Storrs. “We are very excited to have him onboard.”
“Goulston & Storrs has an impressive corporate practice that operates at the top of the market. Bringing my venture capital and international experience, as well as diverse client base, to the firm creates a tremendous amount of opportunity, both for me and for my clients. It's a natural fit, and I look forward to helping grow the firm’s New York office and being part of the firm’s well-known collegial and collaborative culture,” said Kong.
Kong currently serves on the Board of Directors of Prime Produce Limited, a non-profit startup incubator and the Stuyvesant High School Alumni Association. He received his law degree from Boston University School of Law in 2010 and his B.A. from Columbia University in 2005. While in law school, Kong served as the president of the law school student body and the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
