Biography
Overview
Kathryn (Katie) Asaro is a real estate attorney focusing on commercial real estate transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, debt financing, and joint ventures. She counsels developers, operators, owners, investors, and purchasers of commercial real estate properties spanning all asset classes.
Katie negotiates, manages, and closes real estate deals nationally across many industries including retail, multifamily, industrial, life sciences, hospitality, and more. She represents investors and sponsors with joint venture equity finance arrangements, as well as borrowers with permanent financing and construction loans, including mortgage and mezzanine financing. Katie is also an experienced dirt lawyer working on acquisitions and development (including de-malling and ground up) projects which often involve site development agreements and reciprocal easement agreements among multiple parties. Clients appreciate Katie’s thorough and collaborative approach to efficiently closing transactions.
In addition to her work with real estate clients, Katie provides pro bono representation through Human Rights First, a nonprofit promoting respect for human rights and the rule of law. Through this important initiative, Katie advises immigrants seeking asylum in the United States. She provides counsel and support as they navigate the complicated processes of applying for shelter and achieving the full range of entitlements allowed by law.
